This film is a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of Jess Franco's Count Dracula; it shows footage of scenes being filmed, the actors preparing, special effects, and so forth, moving from behind-the-scenes to the story and back again like a theme and variations. One sequence shows Christopher Lee, as Dracula, vampirising Soledad Miranda, as Lucy; another captures the filming of Lucy's staking, including the precious preparatory moments of her stage makeup being applied and Jack Taylor, as Quincey Morris, gathering her up in his arms and placing her inside her casket. Other memorable moments are Christopher Lee goofing off, Soledad smoking in bed while a shot is prepared, and Soledad and Maria Rohm, who plays Mina, each flirting with the camera at various points. The last part of the film is Christopher Lee reading from Bram Stoker's original novel.
